Muff NS April Newsletter 2021

Return to School/Covid:  We are delighted to be welcoming all our pupils after the Easter break. Hopefully we will now have a straight run between now and the summer where we are all uninterrupted. It is important that if your child is absent that they bring back with them their Return to School form. Just a reminder that your child should not attend school if they demonstrate any of the following symptoms:

  • A dry cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • High temperature
  • Loss of sense of smell/taste

All pupils from 1st to 6th class should have their own sanitiser with them. Parents when picking up children at 2:00 and 3:00 should wear a mask at the school gate. The release times of the classes will continue to be staggered. We greatly appreciate your continued cooperation in all of these matters.

After School Care:   Caroline will be reopening the After School Care facility in the old school from today. Again for those concerned, we would ask you to follow all the protocols that she has in place.

Sacramental Classes:   As soon as Fr. Gerry has any details with regard to when Communion and Confirmation can take place, we will let you know. In the meantime, preparations will continue with the Grow in Love programme in class.

Homework:   From this week, pupils will be receiving their standard homework. It is important that this work does not cause difficulty at home. All work given should be within the time limits as set out in our homework policy. If the work is causing any difficulty, please contact the class teacher straight away. Once again, we would ask that you do reading with your child each and every night. This is the most important part of their homework.

Outdoor Activities:  The children have missed out hugely on sports and outdoor pursuits in recent times. On yard, they do get a great chance to run around with their peers and play games. Sport is hopefully returning at the end of the month and we would encourage all children to find the pursuit that they enjoy.

Junior Infants 2021:  We will be having a meeting remotely via Zoom for all parents of the incoming Junior Infants on Monday May the 17th.  We will contact parents with further details later in the month.

Staff Meeting:   We will be releasing all the pupils at 2:00 tomorrow Tuesday to accommodate a staff meeting.

School Calendar:   Please find below a list of dates for the remainder of the school year. We will let you know in the next newsletter the starting date for next year.
